Bad credit auto loans are specifically for people with bad credit, those who have had cars repossessed before or are still paying on a car loan. There are some companies who will find you a loan even if you have filed bankruptcy once, twice, or more. These types of loans do have higher interest rates, usually.

Some banks and auto dealers near you offer loans for people with bad credit and as a consequence auto loans for bad credit. You can look them up on the Internet, the car dealers, but go to the banks and ask a few banks if they have bad credit auto loans.

Cash For Clunkers Program

The cash for clunkers program that is going on right now is good for those with bad credit, as the car dealer gets $3500-$4500 that is considered a down payment for your new car and it may be easier to get the bank to finance you with that amount down, plus if the car dealer is having any specials, this goes with the cash for clunkers program. This may be a quick and easy way to obtain auto loans with bad credit.

Free Credit Report

You can get one free credit report per year, via Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion, the three credit reporting agencies. These reporting agencies are online now. Their addresses and phone numbers are on the websites, too. They have a lot of great information on their websites now.

Auto Loans For People With Bad Credit

Most of the companies who offer auto loans for people with bad credit online. When you apply for a loan, they will find any car dealers and lenders who will give you a chance. If you see a list of the lenders or auto dealers, you can go straight to these people and ask about getting an auto loan instead of applying online with some you do not know.  You might even find some offer very bad credit auto loans .

Some things to watch out for are sites that ask you to pay for this service and they want your bank account information over the Internet or over the phone, promising to send you money to your account. Check out every company very well. Also, your phone will ring at any time, day or night, with some companies. The scammers will not stop calling so easily. Yes, there are some legit companies who offer loans, but if they are so persistent about wanting your bank info, I wouldn't do it. Again, it is better to do the research and go to someone local to you, in person, after you have some information that you need.

Auto Dealers

There are several legit companies who offer these loans, but the best way to find these companies is by going to them directly from a well known auto dealer's website, or in person.

The little auto dealers will usually do in house financing, but not big companies like Ford, Chevy, etc. There are more companies who will do bad credit auto loans today than there used to be.  They may even offer bad credit auto refinance loans.  Please check each one out thoroughly and do not offer bank info thinking it is legit just because they say you qualify. If you qualify really quick online, this sounds too good to be true and may be just that. Be careful and patient.
